Flipping the Script on Difficult Emotions

The key to success with this practice is that our inner awareness is expansive enough so that we are able to become the observers of our difficult emotions. Of course going unconscious is a natural byproduct of feeling overwhelmed, therefore if we can't recognize or name the negative emotion flowing through us in real time, then we have to wait a bit. The storm of it will pass and then we can utilize the practice of reaching for an opposite, positive emotion.

Through the years I have gotten better at finding my gratitude. I still struggle with anger and turning it around into patience. However, celebrating the joy and success of others is such an easy way to step out of lack and jealousy. It makes me hopeful if my friends and loved ones can live out their dreams, then my dreams remain possible.

I hope you have enjoyed this 12 week series of Find Your Flow practices and maybe learned a little something along the way. As always, I continue to be so grateful for you. That you honor my words and ideas with your precious time and attention means so much to me.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. The light in me honors the light in you.

If it feels right, join me on social for daily inspiration to support your inward path.

Thank you so much for sharing this journey with us - and agree - keeping emotions in check “in the moment” will

always be a formidable challenge. However, being more self aware has helped me course correct and be a better version of myself the “next time” . A gratitude mindset continues to grow.

At least we are growing in our awareness of our thoughts, even if they can’t be caught in the moment.

Gratitude always shifts us towards a truer way of being and better prepared for the next challenge.
