While staying at Sand River Masai Mara in a luxury tent encampment nestled deep in the heart of the National Reserve, we were granted the autonomy to wander the grounds during daylight hours.
Conversely, when night would wash over the sky and the stars would emerge from their hiding, we were instructed to radio for a guide to escort us to our dinner. Though rare, startled animals could appear at any moment and the guides knew what to do to keep us safe. As we would step from our tent and be swallowed whole by darkness, we put total trust in our protector following the sweeping beam of his flashlight.
During these somewhat eery night walks, I was struck by how we could only step forward into the illuminated spot right in front of us. Behind us the path became blanketed in mystery and beyond the beam everything remained an inky, dark unknown.
These unusual circumstances forced us to latch our attention on the present moment. It became a walking meditation of the most sacred kind.
Like any journey worth taking, one focused step at a time is all we ever need to take.
The rest will take care of itself.

Wow, to place the full trust of colleagues to ensure your safety while embracing the moment must have been life-changing! I would suspect this is a similar feeling to being protected by young security men and women while deployed to care for our military. Love it Diana! ❤️🐘🐅
